Telangana Revenue Department
To improve the village level revenue Department, the Telangana state government is taking action to fill Junior Revenue Officer (JRO) positions.
Important Updates:
- Number of Revenue Villages: Telangana has 10,911 revenue villages, and the government plans to appoint one Junior revenue officer for each village.
- Priority for Former Employees:
- Those who previously worked as Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) but were transferred to other departments will be given priority.
- The government has directed district collectors to collect opinions from such employees. Orders to this effect have been issued by CCLA Commissioner Naveen Mittal.

- Remaining Vacancies: Approximately 5,300 posts will be filled through These methods.
- Surveyor Posts: Candidates who have completed their intermediate education with mathematics are likely to be directly appointed as surveyors.
- Written Exam: Remaining JRO and surveyor posts will be filled through a written examination.
Priority for Former Employees:
- Former VROs and VRAs, especially those with a degree qualification, may be directly recruited into the revenue department if they express willingness to join.
This decision reflects the government’s focus on strengthening the village-level revenue structure while giving preference to experienced personnel.
